'Forever chemicals' detected in Sydney drinking water catchments

PFAS chemicals have been detected in water catchments and the livers of eight dead platypuses in New South Wales. Sydney Water revealed in June the cancer-linked 'forever chemicals' were found at several dams in low levels. According to U.S. guidelines, there is no safe level of exposure in drinking water, but NSW Health officials say the water is safe to drink.
