Kamala Harris triples US funding to Pacific in geopolitical countermove

The US is significantly ramping up its presence in the Pacific with a plan to enhance its diplomatic footprint and deliver hundreds of millions of dollars in additional support. VP Kamala Harris made the announcement virtually to the Pacific Islands Forum in Suva, in a move that's seen as countering China’s growing influence in the region.
