Northern Australia on alert for melioidosis resurgence

Northern Australia is on alert for a rare and potentially fatal infectious disease, exacerbated by heavy rain and flooding. It has killed at least 12 people in North Queensland this year. While the Northern Territory's monsoonal weather has been less than typical, health officials are staying vigilant.
