Qld and NSW residents brace for Tropical Cyclone Alfred to make landfall

Communities in south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales are facing days of severe weather as Tropical Cyclone Alfred tracks towards the coast. Damaging and destructive wind and intense rainfall leading to flooding is expected to start impacting communities from Wednesday, while hazardous surf is already impacting parts of the coastline. A tropical cyclone watch is also in place in NSW for the first time since 1990.
