Splendour in the Grass festival cancelled

The Australian music scene is calling for more government support, following the cancellation of this year’s 'Splendour in the Grass' festival. In response, the Lower House’s Communications and Arts Committee has launched an inquiry into the challenges of the live music industry. The team behind the Byron Bay mainstay says they're working to bring back the festival next year. But there are fears the festival heyday is over under current economic conditions.
