The Taliban tells SBS they'd help facilitate investigation into alleged war crimes by Australians

The full judgement of the Ben Roberts-Smith defamation case has been released. But questions have already begun circulating, over whether allegations he committed war crimes in Afghanistan should be investigated. The Taliban say they have been following the proceedings. And a senior spokesperson has told SBS they'd welcome Australian officials, if they were to investigate allegations of war crimes, committed by Australian troops. Australia does not recognise the Taliban as a legitimate government. And an Afghan-Australian lawyer has warned, accepting the offer would give the regime undue legitimacy.
