Thousands of asylum seekers stuck in years-long bridging visa loop

A group of crossbenchers are calling on the Immigration Minister to end the years of 'limbo' for about 9,000 asylum seekers stuck under a Coalition-era system, designed to 'fast track' their claims. Thousands of them were children when they first came to Australia. Now young adults, they remain in a succession of restrictive six-month bridging visas - living with the fear they could be deported from the country they call home.
