The secret of Edrick Lee’s lightning speed may have just been revealed.
Diet plays a big part in the life of a Rugby League player, but most players diet wouldn’t consist of turtle and dugong.
But those traditional delicacies are exactly what you’ll find the Canberra Raiders winger enjoying, courtesy of care packages sent down from his Mother in Queensland.
The 23-year-old told League Nation Live of his love for his super food secret.

“Mum sends down some turtle and dugong from the Islands.
“Most people say it tastes like chicken, but for a footballers diet it isn’t the best choice if you want to look lean and fit to play.
“But it’s something I look forward to, anytime I get a chance to have a feed like that, I take it.
Raiders coach Ricky Stuart may just make it a pre-match meal, with Canberra currently enjoying a three match winning streak.

Unfortunately for Stuart though Lee won’t take his place against the Brisbane Broncos this weekend, with the flyer nursing a troublesome hamstring injury.
The Emerging Maroons winger says he could have pushed to play this weekend, but is taking a safety first approach.
“I hurt it a couple of weeks ago against the Bulldogs down in Canberra.
“I hoped to play this week against the Broncos at Suncorp, growing up in Brisbane.
“Hopefully I’m not too far away and I can get back on the field,” said Lee.
