NITV's commitment to original Indigenous children's programming has been celebrated at this year's Logie Awards.
The Australian television awards, voted for by the viewing public, saw the star studded Little J & Big Cuz win 'Most Outstanding Children's Program'. was also nominated in the category.
The Logie honours everyone who worked on the children's animated series that forefronts positive representations of Indigenous culture through the story of two cousins, their family and their school. It's NITV's first Logie.
The series, which first screened in 2017, features Miranda Tapsell who voices Little J, Deborah Mailman as Big Cuz, Aaron Fa’Aoso as Old Dog and Ningali Lawford-Wolf as Nanna.
When the show was commissioned, NITV Channel Manager Tanya Orman said she was excited that the program offered for the first time a way for Indigenous kids to see themselves represented on screen in a fun way.

“Importantly, Little J & Big Cuz works towards demystifying Indigenous culture for non-Indigenous children and enable schools to value and share this culture and knowledge, just as much as it will demystify schools for Indigenous kids," she said at the time.
Tapsell was also part of nominated series Love Child (Channel 9).
Mailman was also nominated for her role in ABC's popular series Cleverman in the Most Popular Actress category.
