Rising R'n'B artist Miiesha delivered a special live performance from the historical Capricorn Caves in QLD on Sunday night.
The Woorabinda artist was joined by guitarist Jeremy Marou (Busby Marou) for a special rendition of 'Caged Bird' and 'Twisting Words', off her debut album for The Sound music show on ABC.
The performance comes off the back of her first National Indigenous Music Award (NIMA) for Best New Talent, and announces the physical release of the 21-year-old singer/songwriter's highly acclaimed debut album Nyaaringu later this month.
Until now the album has only been available via streaming services, but has already earned the artist fans from around the globe.
The album has also been popular within the music industry, with radio stations such as triple j and FBI featuring the collection of songs which show a mature and well honed sense of place and story.
Throughout the album the artist references the passing of knowledge from generation to generation and includes interludes from her late grandmother.
"Nyaaringu is a collection of stories that I feel I wanted to tell or that I needed to speak on." Miiesha said in a prepared statement. "For me it represents my journey and where I'm at now, coming from Woorabinda."

The interludes in the collection are recordings of my Grandmother speaking. For me she was and always will stay with me as the strongest voice in my life so I felt she had to be a part of this with me.
Since her debut release, Miiesha has also featured in print media including , Marie Claire, The Big Issue, The Saturday Paper and Frankie Magazine.
Miiesha picked up the Best New Talent award at this years NIMA awards. She also performed on the night as part of the virtual celebration, .
