Queensland and Brisbane Broncos forward Corey Parker this week announced his retirement from Rugby League at the end of the season.
League Nation Live member Scott Prince paid tribute to the 34-year-old, saying the 336 game veteran has transformed in recent times and has only gotten better with age.
“He’s one of those players; you know what you’re going to get with Corey.
“Coming through he was part of the Baby Broncos when I was with the Wests Tigers and to see him develop as a footballer but also as a man, he’s really taken a leadership role with that club.
“He’s come so far. He’s gained so much respect, not only from the players, but from the sponsors and supporters as well; he’s respected across the board, said Prince.
Fellow League Nation Live panellist and respected Rugby League journalist Peter Badel echoed the sentiments of Prince, saying the retirement of Parker had shocked the game.

“It was quite amazing news. He was talking about going on for possibly another 24 months. We all thought he was going to go after Darren Lockyer’s (Broncos game) record.
“If he played next year he would have certainly broken it, he’ll finish just six games shy.
“You see the honour roll, only two players have played 300 games at the Broncos, Darren Lockyer and Corey Parker, one of the great forwards and he’ll be missed next year, absolutely,” said Badel.
