Fake Art or Cultural Theft?

Tonight NITV’s  flagship news and current affairs program, The Point, partners with CHOICE to assess the amount of fake Indigenous art flooding the market. 

Hosts Rachael Hocking and John Paul Janke will be joined by Indigenous curator, Clothilde Bullen from the to dig deep on this complex issue.
Journalist, travels the country speaking to artists, wholesalers and politicians to look at the impact fake arthas on First Nations industry and explore what needs to change to protect Australia’s unique cultural heritage.

Reporter Rangi Hirini brings us the story of artist Bibi Barba who continues to battle a Polish Hotel that stole her designs for its decor.

Queensland correspondent, sits down with artist Delvene Cockatoo-Collins to discuss the inspiration for her beautiful designs which are imprinted on the Commonwealth Games medals this year.
Presenter, chats to acclaimed artist Ken Done about his own battles to protect his unique brand.

Also on the show, hurdler Kyle Vander Kuyp previews the Commonwealth Games, Kris Flanders meets Rugby Sevens sensation Maurice Longbottom and Travis Cardona brings us the latest from popular culture and social media.
