A regular in spaghetti Westerns, Mario Brega was an Italian actor best known for his work with Sergio Leone. The husky Italian used his size effectively, often portraying tough antagonists. Starting out in Italian comedies and dramas, Brega found greater recognition as a supporting player in Leone's gritty 1964 hit "A Fistful of Dollars" and went on to appear in the filmmaker's other Clint Eastwood-starring productions, notably "A Few Dollars More" and "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly." Featured in other spaghetti Westerns, including "Death Rides a Horse," Brega eventually reunited with Leone for a part in the immigration epic "Once Upon a Time in America."
