Australia's Daniel Sanders maintains his overall lead in the bike category of the Dakar, but the margin was substantially slashed after navigational issues traversing the predominantly rocky course. Toby Price and Sam Sunderland battled with overheating issues with their Toyota Hilux and nursed it to the finish, where they now sit sixth outright in the cars. Toby Hederics finished in the top ten of Rally 2 for the first time and the Schey brothers enjoyed a fruitful day in Classic Dakar, whilst Andrew Houlihan against struggled with his electrical gremlins, but made it to the finish.
