Mixed martial arts fighter Gina Carano cut a striking figure during her swift rise to the top of her profession, beginning in 2006. Ranked No. 3 in her weight class worldwide, Carano's model-worthy features belied her ferocity in the ring, where she went undefeated for nearly three years before a devastating knockout in 2009. Prior to the loss to Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos, Carano had begun to make inroads into acting in minor features and as a competitor on "American Gladiators" (NBC, 2008). She had also accepted the lead role in Steven Soderbergh's big-screen action pic "Haywire." Carano remained an exceptional figure in one of the toughest sports around - a no-holds-barred scrapper who could dish out the abuse and look good while doing it.
