Though he has had no impact in American television or cinema, Jörg Schüttauf is a celebrated actor among both viewers and critics in his homeland of Germany. He got his break in 1985, playing the lead in the spirited romance tale "Ete und Ali." A year passed before he appeared again, this time in the politically fueled television drama "Der Staatsanwalt hat das Wort." Since then, Schüttauf has appeared in at least one television or film project every year, including a 47-episode run with the crime drama "Der Fahnder," as well as 21 episodes on the crime scene procedural "Tatort" which earned him both German Television and Adolf Grimme Awards.
