Lu Leonard appeared in a number of comedic films, always bringing a spark of joy and laughter to whatever role she takes on. Leonard began her acting career appearing mainly in films, such as the musical "Annie" (1982) with Albert Finney, "Micki & Maude" (1984) with Dudley Moore and "Starman" (1984). She also appeared in the crime flick "Stand Alone" (1985) with Charles Durning and the Lucinda Dickey musical "Breakin' 2 Electric Boogaloo" (1985). She also appeared in the TV movie "Last of the Good Guys" (CBS, 1977-78). She kept working in film throughout the eighties and the nineties, starring in "The Princess Academy" (1987), the comedy "You Can't Hurry Love" (1988) with David Leisure and the Louise Fletcher horror flick "Shadowzone" (1990). Film continued to be her passion as she played roles in the comedic adaptation "Without You I'm Nothing" (1990) with Sandra Bernhard, the Steven Bauer romance "A Climate For Killing" (1991) and "Kuffs" (1992) with Christian Slater. She also appeared in the Whoopi Goldberg comedy "Made in America" (1993) and the comedy "Blank Check" (1994) with Brian Bonsall. Leonard more recently acted in the comedy "Man of the Year" (1996) with Dirk Shafer. Leonard passed away in May 2004 at the age of 77.
