Piv and Ulrik have to fight for a place in the parent group of their daughter's new class. With hierarchy, rivalry and opaque agendas, they experience parenthood in the extreme.

Marie reluctantly moves from Copenhagen to rural Velling because the love of her life, Rasmus, has taken a job as a teacher at a college. While Rasmus is quickly sucked into the life of the college, meeting Velling is a culture shock for Marie.

In 1963, a business adventure begins in a basement in a small Danish town. Within a few years, the company has 3500 employees, many of them women who are experiencing the joys and challenges of earning their own money for the first time.
