Merrilyn Gann is a Canadian-born actress best known for her role as Rose Abbott, the tenacious wife of Dr. Harold Abbott on the WB family drama series "Everwood." Gann, who began her love of performing as a singer, earned a theater degree from the University of British Columbia. Trained as a stage actor, Gann performed in numerous regional theatrical productions throughout Canada, and co-founded the companies Northern Light Theatre in Edmonton and Bard on the Beach in Vancouver. After appearing in minor film and TV roles, including bit parts in the Christopher Guest mockumentary "Best in Show" and the Vancouver-filmed science-fiction drama "The X-Files," Gann was cast as a series regular on "Everwood" in 2002, appearing as the strong-willed partner of town doctor Harold Abbott (Tom Amandes) on all four seasons of the show. Gann returned to the big screen in 2009 with a small part as the Chancellor of Germany in the post-apocalyptic action thriller "2012."
