Adam Liaw catches up with a cousin from his father's side of the family to learn how he has been making Hainanese chicken rice for over 30 years.

Adam learns to make authentic beef rendang from a local Muslim family. He visits the National Archives of Singapore to learn about his mother's family, and continues his search for inspiration for his Singapore banquet dinner.
