BikeExchange has named a small five rider team for the four-stage WorldTour event which begins with a 141.5-kilometre opening stage from Halden to Sarpsborg.
Completing the team will be Slovenian Urksa Zigart and in-form Dutch rider Janneke Ensing
Aussie climber Kennedy and Zigart will be the general classification leaders during the four-day race while Australian champion Roy is in the team aiming for stage victories.
BikeExchange head sport director Martin Vestby is confident the team will be able to deliver a strong showing across all stages.
“This year’s course for the Ladies Tour of Norway, the stages can open up for both sprint finishes and breakaways, so we will have to be prepared for most situations that could happen and we will be really going for stage results here,” Vestby says.
“The hilly stage three will suit our climbers like Urska Zigart and Lucy Kennedy and then for the other stages, they should really suit Sarah Roy really well and she will be important for the team at this type of race.”
This year’s race will be the first time the Ladies Tour of Norway takes place in two years after the 2020 edition was cancelled.
