American registered Team Tibco-Silcon Valley Bank announced the signing today.
“We are incredibly thrilled to announce the addition of Brodie Chapman to our roster,” Linda Jackson, Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank founder said. “Brodie rode to an incredible win at the Herald Sun Tour. That ride was incredibly gutsy and shows the kind of drive and determination that are critical to being a successful athlete."
"We are looking forward to helping her continue to develop her talent, and providing opportunities to race at the highest level.”
With her default position set to level stoke, Chapman's reaction to the signing was no surprise.
“I am super stoked to join Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank,” said Chapman. “To be given the opportunity to race amongst the best, together with such talented women is going to make for an exciting year.”
While Chapman's Herald Sun Tour victory is regarded as her breakout performance, coming in only her second UCI-ranked road race, she is no stranger to the local Australian scene on and especially off-road.
The 26-year-old also garnered attention with her sixth place at the 2018 Australian Road National Championships in January, before she broke away from a strong field on the climb at the Women’s Herald Sun Tour, including time-trial world champion Annemiek van Vleuten.
“I was so impressed with how Brodie performed at the Women’s Herald Sun Tour, and I’m really happy that we had the availability to bring her on our team this year,” said Ed Beamon, Team Manager and Sports Director for Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank. “Brodie will be a tremendous asset to the team, especially as we continue to expand our World Tour presence in Europe.”
Chapman will join fellow Australian and newly crowned national road race champion Shannon Malseed at Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank which is set to extend its European racing calendar this year including WorldTour races Ronde van Drenthe, Trofeo Alfredo Binda and Ronde Van Vlaanderen.
