Sosa will ride the Giro d’Italia alongside Alejandro Valverde in his debut season with the Spanish team after missing out on all three Grand Tours in 2021.
The decision, made by his Ineos superiors, culminated in the 24-year-old’s “complicated” departure from the team after three seasons.
“It hurt me a lot,” Sosa told Marca. “The team was focused on something else.
“Things happened; I don’t want to talk too much about it. Everything serves as a learning experience.”
Sosa impressed early last year after winning the Tour de la Provence and is eager to hit the ground running at the Giro behind team leader Valverde.
“I like the Giro,” said Sosa, who placed 44th in the 2019 edition.
“It has mountains and it suits me. I’ll try to do well… looking for stage wins without ruling out the overall. I would love the podium.”
The Colombian’s first competitive event with his new team will take place later this month at the Challenge de Mallorca, with the Tour de la Provence to follow.
