The former Adelaide United player's inclusion has been reward for an impressive start to the season with his Austrian club and joins ex-Reds teammate Craig Goodwin and Preston North End defender Bailey Wright as the only additions to the Socceroos squad.
Making way for Jeggo, Wright and Goodwin was strikers Nathan Burns and Apostolos Giannou while Perth Glory defender Josh Risdon was also omitted.
Tim Cahill's inclusion in the squad confirms Melbourne City's star signing will be absent from his club's A-League Round 1 match which coincides with the two World Cup qualifiers in October.

Socceroos shot stopper Mat Ryan kept his spot in the squad despite reports he suffered a knee injury with club side Valencia and would be sidelined for several weeks.
Backup goal keepers Adam Federici and Mitch Langerak were both included in the squad and will battle it out for the right to take over from Ryan should he fail to recover in time for the matches on October 6 and October 11.
The squad will travel to Jeddah on Sunday, October 2 for the match against a Saudi Arabian side that won its first two qualifiers. The Scooceroos will then return to Melbourne for their October 11 clash against Japan at Etihad Stadium
“We’ve made a couple of slight tweaks to the squad in line with our mantra of selecting players who are in form and fitness and we’d like to have a good look at Craig Goodwin and James Jeggo, who have started their seasons well in Europe,” Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou said.
“Bailey Wright also comes back in after he missed the first two matches through injury and we go to Saudi Arabia and then back to Melbourne with a squad we are comfortable can continue the good start we achieved last month.
"When the draw was released we acknowledged that this window was a real challenge with a very tough away game followed by the clash with Japan at home but that doesn’t mean we stray from the way we prepare ourselves for every match."
