England were knocked out of the World Cup on Thursday morning (AEST) after a 2-1 semi-final loss to Croatia, one game short of securing a historic berth in the tournament final.
Tottenham striker Kane started the tournament in impressive form scoring six goals in his first four matches.
He is currently at the top of the Golden Boot standings for most goals scored at the tournament with two more than Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku.
However, Kane has not added to his tally since that Colombia match during the round of 16 and Neville is adamant England’s star striker picked up an injury during the clash against the South Americans and has been playing hurt ever since.
“I’d be amazed if we didn’t learn in the next few days he’s (Kane) been carrying an injury since the Colombia game,” Neville said on ITV.
“He was carrying something in the second half against Colombia, he wasn’t moving around.
“Against Sweden he was static. It’s not an excuse.
“I’d be amazed if he doesn’t come out in the next few days or week and something emerges about his fitness.
“He’s just not looked right, to be fair.”
Despite not making the final, England have one more game to play at the World Cup when they face-off against Belgium on Sunday morning (AEST) in the third place play-off.
