Roglic's victory at last week's Tour of Slovenia where he defeated last year's Tour de France runner-up Rigoberto Uran by one minute and 50 seconds has certainly buoyed his chances and confidence.
The Slovenian is also armed with overall triumphs at this year's Tour de Romandie and Tour of the Basque country. He has completed two grand tours including last year's Tour de France where he won stage 17 after a long range attack on the Col du Galibier.
Dutchman Kruijswijk has not really reached the heights of 2016's Giro d'Italia where he wore the pink jersey before crashing out on stage 19. But he's tracking OK, finishing last week's Tour de Suisse in eighth overall, one minute and 59 seconds behind winner Richie Porte.
Robert Gesink will offer the team wisdom and experience in the role of road captain.
After his breakout win at the Tour last year on the Champs-Elysses, fast man Dylan Groenewegen has been solidly building his form for this year's race. The Dutchman has already taken eight victories this season including Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne, and stage wins at the Tour of Norway, Paris-Nice and last week's Tour of Slovenia. He is sure to set off some fireworks during the Tour de France sprint stages.
