The Matildas will face North Korea on Monday night knowing victory will guarantee them a spot in Rio as they sit top of the group having won all three of their matches.
It was a perfect start for Australia when Chloe Logarzo put through Lisa de Vanna through on goal after just 45 seconds. De Vanna’s left foot shoot beat the goalkeeper but not the post, however Kyah Simon was there to poke home the opener.
Just 12 minutes later De Vanna was causing havoc again, this time winning a penalty when she was brought down by Kim Hye Ri.
Emily van Egmond, playing her 50th match for the national team, converted from the spot to make it 2-0.
From there Australia rarely looked troubled in what was a cagey battle played mainly in midfield.
Australia sits top on nine points, having scored 14 goals and conceded just one.
