Brazil v Honduras

After a slow start, Brazil managed to make it through to the qualifying round where they beat Colombia 2-0 thanks to goals by Neymar and Luan, instilling a belief in Brazil that they will have reason to celebrate football again after a disappointing 2014 World Cup campaign.

They will meet Honduras, who finished second in their group and went on to beat South Korea 1-0 courtesy of an Aberth Elis goal.

With Olympic football never short of surprises, this match will be one to watch.

Nigeria v Germany

5:00AM (AEST) Arena Corinthians, Sao Paulo

Germany have been the highest scoring team in the Games, having scored 15 goals in the group stages, followed by a 4-0 powerhouse display against Portugal.

Led by Arsenal's Serge Gnarby, the Germans have been rounding into form after finishing second in their group behind South Korea and will be hoping to set up a rematch of sorts of the 2014 World Cup semi-final that saw the senior team beat Brazil 7-1.

Nigeria meanwhile have been steady throughout. With Chelsea's John Obi Mikel leading the way, the junior Super Eagles will be hoping to become the first African Olympic football champions since Samuel Eto'o's Cameroon won gold at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
