It is the second contract extension signed this year by the 22-year-old Slovenian who had already inked a deal in March to add two more years to his contract which would take him through to the 2026 season.

Fresh from winning his second straight Tour de France and claiming a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympic games, Pogacar has put pen to paper once again to further his commitment to Team UAE Emirates adding an extra season on top of his already lengthy contract.

“I’m really happy to be able to commit my future to the team and stay here for the next years. I feel at home here, it feels like a big family,” said Pogačar
“This team is a really good fit for me and I am fortunate to say that I have not only found colleagues but friends.

“I’m excited for the years ahead and what they will bring, hopefully, more success for me and for the team. I hope we are inspiring lots of kids to ride bikes.”

Despite his youth, Pogacar has already broken through to become one of the sports biggest names.

He joined Team UAE Emirates in 2019 and made a splash in his first season winning the Volta ao Algarve and Tour of California to earn a contract extension until the end of the 2023 season.

Pogacar has claimed 29 wins while riding for Team UAE Emirates with his efforts at the Tour de France nothing short of incredible winning the Yellow, Polka Dot and White jersey’s in both 2020 and 2021.
UAE Team Emirates said Pogacar’s deal emphasised his importance to the team and their long term plans.

“We have been building a squad of young talents for the future and Tadej has been an integral part of that process since the beginning,” said UAE Team Emirates boss Mauro Gianetti.

“We have seen him grow from a teenager to a young man and what he has achieved has been fantastic.
“He is inspiring not only his teammates but a whole new generation of young cyclists in UAE and around the world.”
