After an interrupted campaign, the CSL commences with the Championship phase of the season from December 12 (AEDT), as the top eight teams vie for the league title in the final eight rounds.
Mooy’s Shanghai Port side, which also feature ex-Chelsea man Oscar, are one of the top contenders for the 2021 title after finishing the regular season in second place of Group B.
While it has been a long time since the final regular-season game on August 15, Port will be determined to carry on their form against the league’s top eight teams and add another league title to their collection.
Mooy will not be the only foreign star battling for Chinese Super League success when the competition restarts.
Shandong Taishan, with a squad led by former Manchester United and Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini, finished the regular season on the top of the table and go into the Championship round as favourites to win the title.
Former West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion boss Slaven Bilic is in charge of their rivals, Beijing Guoan, and the ex-Premier League manager will be determined to claim silverware.
Meanwhile, former Tottenham star Moussa Dembele and his Guangzhou City outfit are also in the mix.
