Srbic earned second-place at last week’s season-opening meet in Cottbus () in what his first tournament almost seven months after taking the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
The Croatian scored 14.333 in Germany, bettered only by American Brody Malone who tallied 14.700 in the high bar category.
But while the 25-year-old would love to improve upon last weekend’s performance, he remains focused at the larger task at hand; the 2024 Paris Games.
“My hopes for the Doha World Cup are not huge,” Srbic said.
“I just want to keep doing my new routine in competitions. I can get my start value up in the next two years.”
A total of 30 countries have entered this year’s event in Doha, though no fans will be able to attend the Aspire Dome due to strict COVID-19 protocols.
Nevertheless, the familiar venue will host some of the world's top gymnasts, and SBS On Demand will cover all the action from March 4 and 5 via full replay catch-up.
