Expanded from a two-day race in 2019, the Madrid Challenge will move to a three-day event for the race's fifth year.
Stage one of Madrid Challenge is 85km from Toledo to Escalona, followed by a 9.3km individual time trial on Stage 2 at Boadilla del Monte and finally a 100km race starting and finishing in Madrid on Stage 3.
WorldTour leader Lizzie Deignan (Trek-Segafredo) will be out to finish the season on top but has Anna van der Breggen (Boels-Dolmans) and Trek Segafredo teammate Elisa Longo Borghini on her tail.
Deignan's participation in the race has not been confirmed by her team which could add further intrigue to the battle for first place in the WorldTour.
17 teams are set to contest the Madrid Challenge when the race begins in Toledo made up of six WorldTeams (lé BTC Ljubljana, Canyon-SRAM, Mitchelton-Scott, Movistar, Sunweb and Trek-Segafredo) and 11 Continental Teams.
FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope joined CCC-Liv in announcing they would not compete at the Madrid Challenge due to concerns about rider safety.
Germany's Lisa Brennauer took out the 2019 Madrid Challenge and will be confident of defending her title after recording top ten finishes at the Giro Rosa and the World Championship Time Trial.
The race will also be Annemiek van Vluten final time in a Mitchelton-Scott jersey and the Dutch superstar will be determined to end her time with the Australian based outfit with a win ahead of move to Movistar in 2021.
