Tadej Pogačar will skip the 2025 Giro to focus on the Tour and World Championships, Elia Viviani joins Lotto Cycling Team at 36, and 2030 Winter Olympics may feature new sports like cyclo-cross.

Tadej Pogačar will skip the 2025 Giro d'Italia to focus on the Tour de France and World Championships. After winning both Grand Tours in 2024, his team decided a back-to-back effort would be too demanding.

Elia Viviani, left without a contract after INEOS Grenadiers, has signed a one-year deal with Lotto Cycling Team. At 36, he’s no longer in his prime but remains a skilled sprinter eager to return to winning.

For the 2030 Winter Olympics, organisers are considering new sports like cyclo-cross. Former French Prime Minister Michel Barnier supports adding the event as a demo, seeing potential for athletes to compete in both summer and winter Games.
