Oscar-winning Australian actress Cate Blanchett has been captured performing in drag at the famous Stonewall Inn; a gay bar in Lower Manhattan, New York.
The 47 year-old joined a group of drag queens onstage on Tuesday for a charity event organised by the Newtown Action Alliance.
The group seeks to promote gun control measures in the aftermath of 2012's Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, with all benefits raised from the event going towards victims of gun violence.

In the video posted to YouTube, Blanchett can be seen lip-syncing the Dusty Springfield song "You Don't Own Me", wearing a sparkling black dress and bright red lipstick, venturing into a crowd that also featured her husband Andrew Upton.
A vocal critic of President Donald Trump, Blanchett described his ascendancy as "absurd and ridiculous" in an appearance on The Tonight Show, and would later take the stage donning a 'Pussy Hat', a beanie developed after the Women's March on Washington on January 21 to make a collective visual statement of solidarity among women's rights activists.
The Stonewall Inn is noted landmark in the LGBT+ rights movement. The current bar is built on the same site as the original Stonewall Inn, where the Stonewall riots took place in 1969 as members of the LGBT+ community demonstrated for equality.
