Pop superstar Madonna is believed to have accepted a lucrative deal to perform at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, Israel.

While an official announcement has yet to be made, according to an Israeli-Canadian billionaire named Sylvan Adams is set to foot the bill - a rumoured $1.5 million.

“I can happily say that there is a green light from the philanthropist Sylvan Adams,” the 59-year-old's business partner, Danny Ben Naim said over the weekend..

“We’re currently – together with Madonna’s people and with officials from KAN – sitting and working out the details, and everything looks good and positive, and is advancing.”
Ben Naim explained the billionaire's reason for funding Madonna's trip.

"Adams believes that the participation of an artist like Madonna in this year's show will significantly increase the exposure and media coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest itself and the corresponding events … as well as of the wonderful people and beauty of the state of Israel."

While some Eurovision fans expressed their excitement at the news, other took to social media to argue that the gig should have been given to a performer from a competing country.
