Pop star Demi Lovato and hip hop musician Q-Tip have recorded a cover of Sir Elton John’s classic duet "Don’t Go Breaking My Heart" as part of the upcoming Elton John REVAMP album – and fittingly, the music video pays homage to queer culture.
Set in an underground bar, the video appears to be inspired by New York City's - with participants facing off in voguing battles.
Lovato took to Twitter to share her excitement, saying that it was an "honour" to be involved in the project, which also includes Elton John covers from superstars Sam Smith, Florence and the Machine, Lady Gaga, and Ed Sheeran.
Q-Tip, who founded the critically acclaimed hip hop group in 1985, said that he'd long been inspired by Elton John's music.
“Elton’s influence shows you that the possibilities of music are endless,” he said.
“He’s astute in so many types of music, he does it all and being a hip hop kid, our whole aesthetic was that everything was up for grabs and that’s how he has always been to me.”

Lovato is a vocal supporter of the LGBTIQ+ community and has spoken in the past about her own "very fluid" sexuality, saying in her documentary that she is “open to human connection, so whether that’s through a male or female, it doesn’t matter to me".
“I think love is love," she said earlier this month. "That's how I've always felt."
