Who doesn't love a good rom-com?
Following in the footsteps of the universally adored Love, Simon, US cable channel Freeform has announced that it will be serving up an unashamedly queer rom-com in time for Valentine's Day next year - starring Grey's Anatomy star Loving Jake Borelli.
The gay actor will play Sam in the movie, called The Thing About Harry - a Chicago-based man who takes a road trip back to his small hometown in Missouri for an engagement party.
However, there's a catch (isn't there always?) - he has to give a lift to Harry (played by Niko Terho), his arch nemesis from high school.
But will sparks fly between the former enemies?
, the movie's executive producers, Greg Gugliotta and F.J. Denny, said it had been "an honour" to work on a project which strong LGBTIQ+ characters in the lead.
"True equality can only be achieved when you see yourself reflected in the movies, music and stories that paint our culture," the statement reads.
"As young gay men in the ’90s, whenever a rom-com opened, we would watch the leading lady fall in love, and imagine what it would be like if the boy was saying all those things to another boy.
"We’ve always wanted to make a movie - an unabashed romantic comedy - that queer boys wouldn’t have to translate."
The movie will also star a slate of familiar faces in supporting roles, including Queer Eye's Karamo Brown and Queer as Folk star Peter Paige.
There's Something About Harry will be released on Freeform just in time for February 14 next year.
