From now on, Tassie-born comedian Hannah Gadsby can introduce herself as an Emmy Award winner, with her Netflix special Nanette winning the Creative Arts Emmy for 'Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special.'
The stand-up comic managed to beat out some stiff competition, including Beyoncé's critically acclaimed Homecoming, to take home the trophy.
Gadsby had about being categorised alongside the pop superstar, telling late night host Stephen Colbert that she wouldn't be initiating conversation with the singer.
“Am I in the same category as Beyoncé though?” Gadsby, who was on the press circuit for her new special Douglas, asked the host.
“Technically you are,” Colbert replied.
“Technically. Well I won’t initiate [conversation],” Gadsby said. “We’ll leave it up to Beyoncé. I think that’s only appropriate.”
Other big LGBTIQ+ winners for the night included RuPaul, who took out his fourth Emmy for best reality show host thanks to VH1's RuPaul’s Drag Race.
However, there was some discontent on social media after James Corden took out the 'Best Variety Special' award for Carpool Karaoke - an award Beyoncé's Homecoming was favourite to win.
"How does Carpool Karaoke win an over Beyoncé's ?" One viewer tweeted. "Yes, James Corden is entertaining, but he's not the first Black Woman to headline Coachella."
Another added: "I will truly be calling the FBI first thing Monday morning to request that they launch an investigation into James Corden winning an Emmy over Beyoncé."
The main Emmy awards will be televised live on 22 September from Los Angeles.
