The day is finally here – after two months of divisive, exhausting campaigning, the results of the Australian Marriage Law Survey are set to be announced by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) on their website at 10am tomorrow.
Australian Marriage Equality (AME) is holding official announcement events all over the country, as a way for the LGBT+ community to come together in solidarity and be surrounded by compassion and positivity—no matter the result.
AME campaign spokesman Tiernan Brady noted that it is “important that we come together after a long and remarkable journey towards LGBTI equality in Australia.”
Official announcement gatherings will kick off early in the morning—but there’s also a series of parties in the evening for anyone who’s stuck at work during the day (and needs to let off some steam).
