Popular MTV dating series Are You The One? is dedicating its eighth season to singles who identify as sexually fluid.

The long-running American reality TV show involves 16 singles traveling to Hawaii in the hopes of finding their “perfect match” and sharing a USD$1 million cash prize.

For the first time ever, this season's cast will be made up entirely of single people who identify as sexually fluid - a decision which has seen both praise and cynicism from LGBTIQ+ viewers on social media.
According to MTV’s announcement, the show's host, Terrence J, will be joined in Hawaii by Dr. Frankie, a relationships expert who specialises in LGBTIQ+ issues.

“Dr. Frankie will work with the singles to help them become better daters and navigate between drama, poor choices and recurring patterns in relationships,” the statement reads.

“In addition, Terrence will work with the love hopefuls like never before, coaching and guiding them to tap into their true feelings and follow their hearts.”

While it's not quite Gay Bachelor, the series is another step towards LGBTIQ+ inclusion in reality TV shows, with Aussie star Courtney Act hosting The Bi Life in the UK earlier this year.
