All good things must come to an end, including the incredible Schitt's Creek, which is currently preparing for its final season.
The beloved comedy series, which stars Dan Levy, Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara and Annie Murphy, will return to TV screens next month for its sixth and final season - and if the show's touching new advertising campaign is anything to go by, it's going to be an emotional time all-round.
The younger of the two Levys took to social media yesterday to share a photo of a large billboard promoting the series, depicting Levy's character, David, locking lips with his fiancé, Patrick Brewer, played by singer/actor Noah Reid.
“F*ck yes we did,” Levy wrote on Twitter.
“Shine bright, friends. Very grateful for Pop TV and CBC and their support on this campaign that my teenage self would never have dreamed to be true.”
While doing better commercially and critically with each passing season, Levy, who created the show with his father, announced earlier this year that Schitt's Creek would be wrapping up.
“We are so grateful to have been given the time and creative freedom to tell this story in its totality, concluding with a final chapter that we have envisioned from the very beginning,” the father-son duo at the time.
Levy also made a point of acknowledging how important it had been to create a show which represented the diversity of LGBTIQ+ characters and story-lines.
"It’s not lost on us what a rare privilege it is in this industry to get to decide when your show should take its final bow. We could never have dreamed that our fans would grow to love and care about these characters in the way that you have."
