This is the song to beat in 2016. Singer/Actor/TV Presenter and owner of one super-toned set of abs, the seriously handsome Sergey Lazarev will arrive in Stockholm with arguably the best song in this year’s contest and a big fan base across Europe who will all be on his side.
The multi-talented star is such a consummate stage professional, his range goes from performing Euro-pop bangers to treading the boards at Moscow's Pushkin theatre as an actor in period pieces:
As well as performing in plays and running his own pet-treats business, 'Confectionary for Pets,' on the side, the busy star has been touring Russia with his epic 'The Best Show' tour in the lead up to Eurovision. All this multi-tasking recently proved too much for the star when he mid-performance.
The moment was caught on camera by shocked fans, and briefly had some worried about whether his apparent over-exhaustion would affect his Eurovision participation. Nonetheless, the and with very good reason.
“You Are the Only One” is the best bit of dance pop Eurovision has seen in the last 3 or 4 years containing a super-catchy chorus and one killer of a key change.
This is pure Eurovision pop penned by a writing team who have outstanding Eurovision pedigree and performed by an engaging and very likeable artist. If Sergey’s official videoclip is anything to go by, we can expect the staging to be dramatic feast of visual trickery. It may well come down to our Dami versus the super-abbed Russian in the Grand Final.

What are the three most impressive facts about you?
I don't feel comfortable talking about myself but I could tell you the three most positive things that colleagues and friends have told me about me. The first is that I always have a positive will towards people, I am a hard worker and finally I am very open minded, never criticising others for their personal choices.
Do you have a (lucky) routine before you go on stage?
No I don’t have a lucky routine. Before I go to stage I just stay alone and concentrate on what I have to do.
Why is the Eurovision Song Contest important for you?
I think it is a big honour for every artist to represent his country. This is the most important thing for me and I will do my best to represent Russia in the best possible way.
