SBS and NITV receive multiple AACTA Award nominations

Australia's top screen awards wrap up an incredible year for SBS and NITV.

SBS and NITV have been recognised with numerous nominations for the 2025 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards, with a total of 11 nominations across major factural, children's and entertainment categories.

It's been a great year for SBS Originals, with the smash-hit original drama in the running for Best Miniseries, while fascinating true-crime experiment and SBS Original receives a nomination for Best Direction in Nonfiction Television. The gripping second season of also joins the fold, with a nomination for Best Factual Entertainment Program. This year, three SBS documentaries are going head-to-head in the same category, with , and all nominated for Best Documentary or Factual Program. The industry recognition doesn't end there, with nominations for hit children's programs and as well a Best Cinematography in a Documentary nomination for Marc Fennell's, Best Costume Design in Television for and Best Entertainment Program for .

To be held on the Gold Coast from February 2024, in recognition and celebration of Australia's highest achievements in film and television, the AACTA Awards present over 50 awards across two major ceremonies. The peer-assessed AACTA Awards are the only Australian industry body to honour practitioners across all crafts and industry sectors, including feature film, documentary, short film, television, online, visual effects and animation.
