Team Eurovision sends love and best wishes to Voyager front man, Danny Estrin, as he takes time out of the spotlight to focus on his health.
After an incredibly successful year representing Australia at Eurovision and releasing their new album ‘Fearless In Love’, Danny Estrin revealed that he has received a shock cancer diagnosis requiring immediate treatment. The news comes less than two weeks ahead of their European tour, which is now postponed until late 2024.
“Last week I was dealt some life-altering news: I’ve been diagnosed with a form of cancer that requires immediate treatment. I am absolutely devastated that we cannot perform on our forthcoming European tour, especially after this incredible Eurovision year we’ve had. I am on strict doctors’ orders to not take this lightly, put my health first and get this sorted so that we can be on stage again as soon as possible. This has been an extremely hard decision to make, but one that everyone will hopefully understand."
Having worked so closely with Danny and his bandmates, Alex, Ashley, Scott, and Simone, we know first-hand what a positive force of nature he is, and we adore his fighting spirit. We couldn’t be more proud of Voyager’s incredible success at this year’s and beyond. It is inspiring to see his warmth and talent embraced by people all over the world, and we know that love and support will be there for him in these challenging times. SBS sends heartfelt well wishes to Danny as he focuses on his recovery, and to his family and friends.”
