Beating out 21 other acts to make it through Latvia’s national selection contest, Supernova, electro-pop/rock band Triana Park will be hoping to continue their home nation’s recent good form at the contest and qualify to the final for the third year in a row.
Originally not intended as a potential song for Eurovision, the four-piece’s “Line” proved an overwhelming winner at Supernova, garnering over 50 percent of the public vote, calculated with a mix of televoting, online voting and Spotify streaming.
Having attempted to represent their home nation on seven different occasions, Triana Park’s persistence has paid off. Latvia continues to send unexpected and interesting entries to the contest, ensuring a diversification of the music offered on stage.
