Set one year after The Good Wife's finale, the brand new series The Good Fight brings back series stars Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo. Now working at one of Chicago’s leading African American law firms, the pair are joined by a diverse cast of new and returning faces.
Each week, The Good Fight delivers stories inspired by real events, covering terrorism, cyber-bullying, censorship, hate speech and fake news.
You will be able to watch The Good Fight exclusively on SBS from Wednesday 2 August, with episodes also streaming on SBS On Demand.
The new status quo
Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) announces her retirement from the her law firm Lockhart, Deckler, Gussman, Lee, Lyman, Gilbert-Lurie, Kagan, Tannebaum, & Associates (formerly Lockhart Gardner in The Good Wife). After signing the paperwork, she discovers she has been the victim of a Bernie Maddof-like scam, causing her to lose all of her money.Desperate for work, and no longer welcome at her old firm, Lockhart joins a predominantly African American law firms that specialises in representing police brutality cases. She discovers her former associate Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo) also works at the firm.

Lockhart finds a job at the firm for her goddaughter, Maia - the daughter of the man responsible for losing all her money.
The new cast
For fans of The Good Wife, there will be plenty of familiar characters returning, but this is a brand new jumping on point for viewers, with new storylines and new cast members.
Joining Christine Baranski and Cush Jumbo as a series lead is Rose Leslie, previously seen on Game of Thrones as wildling Ygritte. Also joining the cast is Delroy Lindo (Get Shorty), Bernadette Peters (Mozart in The Jungle), Erica Tazel (Justified), Sarah Steele (The Good Wife), and Justin Bartha (The Hangover). A number of your favourite regular guest stars from The Good Wife also return, with Matthew Perry (Friends), Michael Boatman, Gary Cole, and Carrie Preston back for multiple episodes.

It feels like The Good Wife
Fans of The Good Wife will be right at home with this new series - It feels the same, even if the look of the show is a little bit different. The original show creators, the married writing team of Michelle and Robert King, are back in charge of this new series, with Phil Alden Robinson (Sneakers, Field of Dreams) co-writing the premiere episode with them)Ridley Scott, David Zucker, Liz Glotzer, Brooke Kennedy and Alison Cross also serve as executive producers. Kennedy directed the premiere episode. The series is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions and is distributed worldwide by CBS Studios International.
