The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross is now airing weeknights from 5:40PM on SBS VICELAND and the soothing 80's TV classic seems to be exactly what people need in their lives at the moment. If you are unfamiliar with the concept this half-hour instructional television show created and hosted by painter Bob Ross ran from 1983 to 1994 and taught techniques for landscape oil painting, completing a painting in each session. Starting with a blank canvas Bob would build the picture and add "happy little clouds" and "happy little trees" until a beautiful landscape manifested on the canvas.
In times like these Bob Ross has become the calming hero we need and deserve, with the show now finding a new generation of fans, it's a Bob Ross renaissance. I mean how can you not feel good watching this:
