Though Ravi’s experience of the Indian equivalent of the ‘spring wedding’ surge is entertaining to say the least, the documentary also raises important questions about the challenge of balancing cultural expectations with the search for true compatibility in immigrant families, and affirms that love has the potential to triumph over difference if one is willing to give it a chance.

As they wander around the city, singing songs about life, love and hopes for the future, it appears that this could be the start of a special connection, but unbeknownst to Tam, it is Thanh’s last day in Saigon.
