The local smash-hit returns! In season two of Alone Australia, 10 Australian survivalists armed with bows and arrows take on the unforgiving wilderness of New Zealand’s South Island, self-documenting their battle to sustain themselves in complete isolation and striving to be the last one standing to win $250,000.
Participants have a strict and limited clothing allowance. They receive a basic first aid and safety pack from production. They are each equipped with a GPS device and satellite phone which they are taught to operate. These devices form their only link to rescue and may only be used when they experience an emergency or decide to tap out.
Participants are provided with a long list of survival tools, from which they may only choose 10 items to take with them. These are checked to ensure there are no alterations and that they match criteria before being packed ready for launch.
