Dami of course grew up in South Korea, coming to Australia with her family at age nine- so of course it was no sweat for her to perform in Korean last year when she  on the hit TV show "King of Mask Singer,"  fooling viewers into thinking she was a local when she sang in Korean.

What’s considerably more impressive though is her Chinese New Year performance in China last month, singing a duet with a Chinese singer – in Chinese.

She learnt to sing just by copying her favourite pop idols

And she still does some pretty impressive covers on her popular Youtube channel.
More recently though it’s Dami who’s been inspiring other kids – not just through her recent fame, but prior to that as a music and piano teacher.

She had a successful music career before X Factor

While she leapt to fame thanks to the Channel Seven talent show, she’d already carved out a successful career both as a music teacher and as a gospel singer in South Korea, touring and performing at Christian Youth camps and releasing her first studio album – ‘Dream’, which also served as a charity fundraiser for the church.

She’s highly accomplished

Dami began studying at the Young Conservatorium of Music program at Griffith University at the young age of 11. Not only does she now have a  from the University of Queensland (UQ), she also holds a Masters of Arts degree in contemporary voice at Griffith University. In addition to singing, her musical talents stretch to playing the violin and piano.
“At UQ, she was a model student and very dedicated to improving her work and performances,” her former UQ piano teacher Max Olding told the .

She’s got international musical influences

Hailing from South Korea herself, Dami is a massive music fan draws inspiration from many of the country’s biggest stars naming singers BoA, Lee Juk and Kim Dong-ryool among her favourites.

In 2014, X Factor host and judge Dannii Minogue also organised for Dami to meet one of those idols BoA as she was working in studio. Dami also then bumped into fellow Korean megastar G.NA while she was there - and t.

When Dami surprised fans by appearing on Korean TV show “King of Mask Singer” late last year, she said that "even as I lived in Australia, I used to dream about singing in Korea.”

That's not surprising - cos she's pretty good at singing in both Korean and English! Check her out singing a cover of Korean song 'Eyes, Nose, Lips' by in a video she shared to Instagram last year:

She’s more than just a singer

Dami is also known for her charity work and her benevolence.
As well as volunteering her time to attend and sing at various fundraisers, her work as a campaigner for the charity Compassion Australia has seen her travel to India to meet her sponsor child.

Sorry guys, she’s taken!

Aussie fans are probably already acquainted with husband Dami’s Noah. When the stunning star touches down in Stockholm though, she’s sure to turn plenty of European heads, who may be surprised to learn that she’s already been hitched for a few years.
Dami originally met Noah at church and they tied the knot over three years ago -  in September 2012, keeping true to their South Korean origins, the ceremony took place in Seoul.
